Is Satyamev Jayate only helping the Muslims?

Search terms that were used to reach my blog entry (on Satyamev Jayate) and wondered why a term like “indian muslim satyamev jayate” might have been used. On google the 4th item that showed up with this term was: http://vivekajyoti.blogspot.com/2012/06/satya-mev-jayete-funds-collected-for.html . A very surprising blog entry by a Bhupendra Gandhi in VivekaJyoti. In essence he is accusing Satyamev Jayate of collecting funds from the general indiscriminate public of India and using it to help only the Muslims of India by donating the funds to www.humanitytrust.com (the site seems to be down now). I do not watch all episodes so did not know what he was talking about but a few clicks later realized that he must be talking about the SMS scheme on this page: http://www.satyamevjayate.in/issue04/donate/ The site mentioned is www.humanityhospital.org (run by the same Humanity Trust as Gandhi mentioned).

It is clear that the Hospital is indiscriminate in its services to all Indians without any extra benefits to Muslims. Also its management is diverse compared to what is claimed about the Trust at large. But it would be wrong on my side not to give Gandhi the benefit of the doubt (that the Trust does benefit Muslims more than anyone else and that it is run by Muslims) – so lets agree that Humanity Trust makes mosques and madaris and helps young muslims but the funds from Satyamev Jayate are promised to the Hospital which is indiscriminate – how then is there any injustice on part of Satyamev Jayate?

Furthermore, even if the monies were promised to the Trust and it was serving the muslim community that is the least of the benefits that Satyameve Jayate is providing to the nation of India and the world at large. I think it is giving the listeners a better understanding of the problems in our society that we as individuals often face, but never act on. With such an understanding we are brought ever closer to act against the injustices. That is indiscriminate and that is pure! It is rare for an actor who could be spending his time making a lot of money do something like this and I am just all praise for him.

Now to the second point in Gandhi’s blog entry that bothered me: After plenty of references to recent political history of India (that I am blissfully unaware of) he says:

For the Hindu nation, EXTERMINATED in Pakistan and Banglades(h), and increasingly threatened in Hindusthan due to Gandhi and Nehru’s INPUT, there is only ONE way to sort things out: ACTION.

I am not sure what ACTION is he recommending but would like to bring to his notice that Muslims themselves are being butchered by many – this includes Muslims being killed by Muslims (no need for examples its in the news every day), by Jews , and by Buddhists. Who are to be blamed for this? Are all these religions at fault including Islam itself? Is the Buddha to be blamed for this or Prophet Moses of the Jews? No, none of the religious leaders have promoted such massacres, it is the devil within us that gets us humans to act in this manner with other brother humans. Mr. Gandhi please stop insinuating hatred between our religions because before Muslims we are Humans – and in that realm we are your brothers.
